Must Try South American restaurant in Shanghai- Latina!

  1. Hi Ms Ana, I know that you are Mexican and I see that you’ve been living in Shanghai for many years as a teacher so have you heard of any traditional Shanghainese food?

Answer: Yes many years, and I’ve heard of the little soup dumplings and the sweet, red briased pork that goes well together with rice.

  • What is the biggest difference between Shanghainese food and Mexican or South American food?

Answer: Shanghainese food tends to be relatively sweeter then Mexican or South American food in my opinion. People in China eat a lot of rice but Mexicans or South Americans don’t.

  • Do you have any restaurant recommendations in Shanghai that suit your taste?

Answer: I would say Latina! This is also the reason why the Spanish teachers selected this restaurant as the destination of our Spanish field trip last year.

  • Can you breifly describe the restaurant, for example the style and the surrounding?

Answer: It is a Brazilian, which is South American restaurant. It has many subdivisions in Shanghai. I know for sure that there is one in Lujiazui and another in Xujiahui. The surrounding and style can be described as free but cozy and it is suitable for family gatherings in my opinion.

  • Do waiters and waitresses have good attitudes?

Answer: You have two options to enjoy your meal: buffet and regular ordering. I recommend buffet because the refilling speed is very fast and there are more options to select from different sections of food such as salads, meat, rice, noodles, and desserts.

  • What food do you recommend and why?

Answer: I recommend the meat section the most especially the braised chicken, it is healthy and it is delicious! I also love the grilled meat that is being served and cut on a metal stick, it reminds me of my spanish speaking country root and my hispanic culture.

These are the pictures taken from our previous Spanish field trip, students went to this restaurant. Look at the meat, this is when the waiters and waitresses refill, it is delicious! There is a variety of vegetables too as seen in the picture on the right so vegetarians can also come!
