Seniors design their own yearbook page

Seniors are about to graduate. In order to celebrate and commemorate the seniors, it is a school tradition for the Yearbook Design class to organize the senior pages. However, even though the Yearbook Design class is in charge of organizing the pages, it is the seniors who actually make the product.

According to Erica Cheng (12B) who is a member of the Yearbook Design class, “Senior page is a portion of the yearbook where the senior class can put down memorable events that happened throughout their high school years.” Erica also added, “As a member of the Yearbook Design class, some classmates and I are in charge of guiding and assisting our senior classmates in the process of designing their own pages.”

Erica Cheng and her Yearbook Design class classmates believe that “By designing their own pages, seniors are able to be creative and fill the page with what they’re passionate about. Only they can understand what they really want, hence, only they can make the magic happen.” Since it’s the seniors themselves who are the main characters of the senior pages, they should design the page with what they like. This way, the senior pages would become an item of fond memories for the seniors, even after they graduate. Not to mention, seniors also experience greater bonding with their friends through the process of designing their pages.

Seniors were “provided specific guidelines regarding the page designs, and they can incorporate their own ideas into the mix.” After the seniors turn in their rough draft of their senior page, it is now the Yearbook Design class’s responsibility to make the rough draft look better. They improve it by using Adobe programs and other professional editing softwares to perfect the senior page design.

Let us appreciate the Yearbook Design class for giving us the opportunity, and also thank them for working hard on editing our rough drafts into a better design!
