Mamamoo concludes their Four Season Project with a freshly released album, White Wind

A K-pop girl band, Mamamoo, released the last album of their Four Season Project–a showcase of four albums–on March 14, 2019. The Four SeasonProject has been a huge success in Mamamoo’s career, with the band’s popularity rising after its pre-release of the single Paint Me. Also, their single “Gogo Bebe” from White Wind won six first-place awards on Korea’s top three TV stations: SBS, KBS, and MBC, receiving approval from the public.

In Mamamoo’s pre-release of the album Paint Me for the Four Seasons Project, each member has her own representative color: Hwasa’s is yellow, MoonByul’s red, Solar’s blue, and WheeIn’s white. The album White Wind centers on WheeIn’s color—white. The album tells the story of how Mamamoo constructed their own image on a white piece of paper, working with each other as a team.

Compared to the other three albums, White Wind conveys an elegant air with the use of slow to moderate tempos in WeeIn’s solo, 25 . In the song, WeeIn expresses her feelings about loneliness, dreams, and difficulties. The lyrics, which illustrates events in life from an unique perspective, are easily relatable. The single has garnered a lot of empathy and support for WeeIn from her fans.

On the other hand, White Wind’s leading single “Gogo Bebe” emphasizes that it is important to enjoy one’s life even when there are numerous obstacles that one needs to face. Although this award-winning song does not have a fast rhythm or strong background music, its idiosyncratic groove provides a dancing vibe. In addition, “Gogo Bebe” ranked top twice on M! Coundown, once on The Show, Show Champion, Music Bank, and Show! Music Center.

Mamamoo debuted in 2014. The band quickly stood out from other k-pop girl bands due to its focus on individual members. Each member in Mamamoo has a distinct style corresponding to their own representative colors. The album Yellow Flower, which is Hwasa’s color, focuses on the start of Mamamoo’s journey, highlighting how the four members are gradually integrated into each other’s lives. MoonByul’s color album Red Moon is about passion and love, released just as Mamamoo reached the climax of their career. Solar’s album, BLUE;Sis about the experience of crying for the first time. Lastly, WeeIn’s album is about the origin of Mamamoo.

Mamamoo’s albums are more than just songs; the Four Season Project illustrates their career, friendship, and life.
