
The People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced “at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President of the United States of America Donald J. Trump will pay a state visit to China from May 13 to 15” on May 11, 2026. This visit was the second visit in Trump’s presidential history, 9 years after the first in 2017.
On October 25, 2025, during President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping’s first meeting at the Busan Summit, Trump announced plans for a visit to China in April the following year. However, due to the Iranian War, the visit was postponed to May.
Trump arrived in May 12 and left on the 15th.
