Slay the Spire 2, the sequal of the popular video game Slay the Spire, was officially released on Steam. Just like the previous game, Slay the Spire 2 is a deck-building roguelike game, which requires the player to play through randomly generated levels, use cards to fight against enemies, set up a deck, and climb to the top of the tower.
Not only the game got an overwhelmingly positive review, it also made Steam crash for an hour just because too many people are buying the game at the same time, similar to the crash that happened when Hollow Knight: Silksong was released.
Another interesting thing is how the creators decided to make a sequal. One creator, Anthony Giovannetti, wanted another roguelike deck-builder, while another, Casey Yano, wanted an action game. Eventually, they decided with a coin flip, and turns out that Anthony Giovannetti won.
