Chinese Culture Week

Event introduction

During the week of 10/23-10/27, high school students from Chinese classes held a Chinese culture event. This event is where students from middle school travel back to the Tang dynasty and experience the market and characters in ChangAn Street.

Preparation Stage

Before the actual culture week, high school students who took Chinese classes were assigned to create their own stores that would show up in the street. Some examples are students from the Advanced Chinese Business class created a grocery store and students from the Performing Arts class created a drama academy.

Event Day

On the actual event days, high school students who took Chinese classes were to go to the lobby and wear their assigned clothes to act as NPC in the street. Whereas the students from middle school were assigned to a role they had to act and complete the character’s mission throughout the event. Then, they were led into ChangAn Street by high school students and teachers. In there, students have to complete their mission to be able to travel back to the modern day.
