The Second Semester Brings Many New Engaging Events to the Campus
From the annual Science Carnival to the newly organized Tropical Escape, the second semester offers a wide variety of events to help busy students destress.
With school starting once again, the second semester is a time of stress and hard work. However, with the many upcoming events, students can find a way to destress through partaking in them.
The first event to happen this quarter took place last week on March 13th . The theme was Tropical Escape, and it was the first ever spring dance that STUCO hosted. Taking place at Bandit, a tropical-styled restaurant located in the Jing An area, the event started from 5:30 p.m. and ended at 8:30 p.m.. And with a ticket price of only 80 RMB that included a buffet-styled meal, attendees were delighted with the wide range of dishes and drinks that were served. A great way to destress after the SATs, or just to have fun with friends, this event is definitely worthwhile and affordable!
Coming up next will be the annual Science Carnival, which will be hosted on March 19th. The Science Carnival consists of a variety of fun activities in which the students can experience firsthand. From games to skits to experiments, students get to learn about science in a new and interactive way outside the classroom, allowing them to express their passion for science through creativity. Students can move around the school accordingly to schedule, learning about different fields of science, including but not limited to chemistry, physics, and biology, they may not have come in contact with before, sparking an interest in them
The 2021 TEDxSMICSchool will be held on March 20th, starting from 12:30 and ending at 4:30. The theme this year is “Shower Thoughts,” in which speakers will have a chance to express their most bizarre and innermost ideas. There will be seven speakers in total, three guest speakers and four student speakers, and tickets cost 80RMB each. This event was only open to 100 people, so this will be
On April 22nd, the second Performance Night of the schoolyear will be hosted. Organized by STUCO, the event hosts performances ranging from dancing to singing to acting. The event is free of charge, allowing all students to partake very easily. Not much has been released about the event, but STUCO never fails to host great events!
School events are a great way to help students relax, and the ones offered in this new semester are no different. Hanging out with friends and just enjoying yourself can really allow one to cope with the stress of schoolwork better. Come join us at these upcoming events!
