The 9th Shanghai AArt exhibition

From November 21st to November 22nd, the 9th Shanghai AArt hotel art fair was held in the HuaYi hotel at XuHui district. This year, tickets were provided to SMIC-I students for free if they were enrolled in any of Ms. Edward’s course.

Compared to other art fairs or exhibitions in Shanghai, the AArt exhibition was quite unique. Instead of displaying artworks in a big hall, they have used the whole floor of the hotel. In each of the hundreds of different hotel rooms, there were various themes and artworks from different artists. Not only Chinese, but artists from Japan, Korea, Austrailia, and America were involved in this art fair.

These type of placements inspired the viewers a lot. By placing the artworks on tables and beds, the visitors were able to have a closer view of the artwork, understanding the texture of the painting.

Among the students who visited the exhibition, many of them were suprised at the room full of realism paintings. If one did not focus much to the painting, he or she would have mistakened the painting as a photography. This photo shows two examples of the realism painting. Drawn by a Korean artist, these two pieces of artworks displayed food, potatoes and corns, being very realistic.
