Daniel Arsham: Perception of Reality

Throughout the fall, art museums in Shanghai have been exhibiting some of the newest, most innovative art. Among these museums, the HOW Art Museum Shanghai is presenting Perpetual Present, the most recent and representative works of New York-based artist, Daniel Arsham, until October 24th.

Raised in Miami but starting his career as an artist in New York City, Arsham began to collaborate with musicians and producers in 2007. After gaining experience with structural experiments and collaborating with other artists, themes began to arise in his art as he developed his style. These themes included the boundary between reality and fiction, between the present and the future, and between space and time. Arsham began to express these abstract concepts in sculpture, architecture, drawing and film. From his pieces, Arsham intends to create a collision between the remnants of past, present, and the future. The concept of similarities between symbols and gestures across cultures can be also found in his works shown in the gallery.

The HOW Art Museum Shanghai is opening other exhibitions such as Serious Game, Joseph Beuys, and Pantone. The opening time for HOW Art Museum is from 13:00-22:00 every Tuesday to Friday, and from 10:00-22:00 on the weekends. The street address of the museum is NO 1, Lane 2277, Zuchongzhi Road, Shanghai, China. For additional information, please check out this website.
