Christmas performances in SMIC-I
“We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas!”
The audience cheered enthusiastically as the students performed in the lobby. The audience sang along with the performers, some even showing a couple of dance moves. There were also students who joined the performance, unexpectedly going on to the stage. Just like this, the atmosphere of the middle high school lobby was filled with the Christmas spirit. Everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying the songs and performances prepared by the students and teachers.
On December 21st and 23rd, Christmas performances took place in the middle high school first floor lobby during lunch. The performance that happened on 21st was a collaboration of students and teachers singing. The songs listed in the performance were “Jingle Bells”, “Silent Night”, “Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer”, and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” As the performance continued, the audience got excited and joined in, creating a huge sing-along. The performance was a huge success and after it ended, an enthusiastic round of applause was heard all around the school. Rincy Mohan (12B) said, “I felt happy when I sang because it was fun singing together with teachers and friends. I enjoyed this experience a lot.”
The performances that took place on December 23rd were performed by students only. Some performed solo and others as duets. There were even students who brought their own instruments and presented their talent in front of the audience. The songs performed were Santa Baby, Mistletoe, Hallelujah, and Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas. Vicky Zhang (12B), a senior who performed during this event, said that, “I started preparing for this performance a week before.” This shows how much effort students actually put in for the performances. Also, she said that, “I felt happy [while singing].” Similar to Rincy, Vicky also enjoyed performing.
Let’s express our appreciation to all the students and teachers who have presented us with memorable performances!
