Christmas concert celebrates the upcoming holiday

If you happened to pass by first-floor auditorium on December 15th, you would have heard lively and light-hearted music — coming from the Christmas Concert. This year’s Christmas Concert lasted for an entire day, with participation from students from elementary, middle, and even high school. Elementary school performance was delivered in the during the day while the middle and high school’s started at 6:00 pm. were hosted by MCs Julianne Pan (11C) and Samuel Hsu (CT12).

The concert started with an instrumental, “The Snow of Christmas”, performed by CT7A, followed by a “Last Christmas” vocal performance from ET8A. There were also different styles of dances and musical plays. Families and friends came to visit, taking pictures to record the cheerful moment.

Lots of people were in attendance, as Ryan Au (11C) stated, “it’s always crowded in the first-floor auditorium.” However, compared to the past years, the parents were much more courteous this time, according to Kay Qu (CT10), the president of CT Student Council, who volunteered to help out at the event. “They weren’t jammed in the front rows; and we, the volunteers, were able to move freely to deliver the props without them blocking the way.”

“The performances were awesome,” Kay added, but then commented on the new screen, saying: “ However, the screen was too long for those GIFs. The images were out of shape, only some backgrounds were okay to look at.” After the auditorium was renovated in the summer, the  “oversized” screen had been a problem for the presenters and the performers during in-school activities. “The new screen made all the pictures and videos stretched.

Still, the festive atmosphere of the upcoming Christmas wasn’t disturbed by the issue. “The rehearsal was great; the performance was also great,” Mrs Yanting Yang kept smiling as she said, “Everything was great!” We celebrated Christmas in school together as a big family, which became a chance to hang out with beloved ones during this very special time of the year. Just like the closing dancing performance in the end of the concert, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” as performed by ET8B, we “got that sunshine in my pocket, got that good song in my feet……”

Merry Christmas!
