Korean boy band Tomorrow X Together received two awards right after their debut
A five-member Korean boy band TXT, also known as Tomorrow x Together, has garnered significant recognition and praise within just two weeks after their debut. Each member is different from the other, shining in their own way to create synergy: “The group has come together under one dream in hopes of building a new tomorrow” (BigHit Entertainment). As a group following in the footsteps of BTS, one of the most successful boy bands in history, TXT consistently demonstrates their strong skills in both singing and dancing to the K-Pop world.
TXT debuted on March 4, but the spotlight has been on them even before their debut. BigHit Entertainment–the managing company of TXT– tweeted a black and white themed photo, which states “You and Me” with two mysterious questions–“What do you do?” and “What do you see?”– on January 9. This post was retweeted over 226 thousand times and liked by over 608 thousand accounts. Following this huge surprise, a series of teasers continued to be released along with introductions of the members—Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Huening Kai, and Taehyun—of TXT one at a time over the course of January. This promotion method was hugely successful, resulting in TXT now having over 1.68 million followers on Twitter and 3.2 million followers on Instagram.
Moreover, TXT’s rookie artist legend is everlasting. Ten days after their debut, the boy band received their first award from “The Show,” which was closely followed by another award from “M Countdown” for their song “Crown.” This song tells the story of a boy who woke up and discovered that he had horns. He was scared of people’s comments and criticisms, his identity, and his future. Then, he met another person who had wings, who made him felt accepted and loved. In this song, TXT refers to their horns as a crown, symbolizing that they are not ashamed of being different, but are instead proud. Just like BTS’s works, TXT’s songs also convey messages that their audience can deeply connect with. The members’ talented skills and polished albums brought the band to the top trending spot in the K-pop industry in a profoundly short period of time.
