Exploring the world through the eyes of the Sharks
Although the break only began only a few weeks ago, many students have been already traveling around the world. For one, Sophia Sze (12A) has been touring around Hokkaido Island, which is known to be the second largest island in Japan. “The snow in Hokkaido is super fluffy, white, and wonderful… [It] feels like a lot of like Sulbing [ice cream]! Hokkaido is definitely a place to spend your winter break!” said Sophia. This snowy island of Japan attracts tourists with diverse wild animals that can be rarely spotted in other places, and Sophia was able to capture her moments with wild animals and nature with her camera.

Olivia Lu (11C) also visited Japan during the first week of winter vacation. “North Kyushu (that includes regions such as Fukuoka, Oita, and Kumamoto) was the location my family and I visited during this winter vacation. It was less [of a] city compared to Tokyo and Osaka; however, the experience was unique and great because of the different sceneries,” said Olivia. As Olivia mentioned, her photos from Kyushu provided a simple but unique view of southwest Japan.

Meanwhile, Albert Tee (11C) has been visiting Malaysia and Vietnam. Regarding his trip, Albert shared, “It’s a hectic itinerary: 12 flights over 38 days covering 9 ports of call ringing from Kuala Lumpur to Saigon (also known as Ho Chi Minh City) to beaches in the middle of nowhere in Bornean Malaysia. It’s a good kind of madness.” Although his trip was a bit hectic, Albert was still able to share impressive photographs from both Malaysia and Vietnam.
