Friendship

Why is it Important?

Friends give you emotional support

Having a friend can help one to go through challenges and depression easily. Research had shown that those who were depressed were twice as likely to recover if they have a supportive friend.

Friends help reduce stress

Spending time with friends is very important as it can benefit one by reducing their stress. According to Harvard Medical School, “social connections help relieve levels of stress, which can harm the heart’s arteries, gut function, insulin regulation, and the immune system.”

Friends help build confidence

Everyone has insecurities every now and then. With a supportive friend that offer praise and reassurance is very important since it can comfort people and make them understand how well they are as a person.

How to strengthen friendships?

  1. Honest and open
  2. Respect
  3. Provide positive emotions
